Carbon‐Based Electrochemical‐Free Chlorine Sensors

چکیده
Sodium hypochlorite is a widely used additive in water to disinfect and remove any disease-causing bacteria that can be found sources of water, wash contaminants from meats, fruits, vegetables. Many free chlorine sensors exist which monitor levels such as the use colorimetric or electrochemical methods, ensuring within safe regulated levels. However sensing methods are irreversible often toxic compounds, sensors, although reversible, made with materials not suitable near drinking food products. By developing using alternative around This review article discusses various electrochemical-free carbon-based resulting biodegradable, relatively inert, resilient presence harsh chemicals, making them still maintain competitive performance parameters. showcases some recent progress, importance, preconditions, future needs potentials sensors.

Chlorine, chloramine, chlorine dioxide, and ozone susceptibility of Mycobacterium avium.
Environmental and patient isolates of Mycobacterium avium were resistant to chlorine, monochloramine, chlorine dioxide, and ozone. For chlorine, the product of the disinfectant concentration (in parts per million) and the time (in minutes) to 99.9% inactivation for five M. avium strains ranged from 51 to 204. Chlorine susceptibility of cells was the same in washed cultures containing aggregates...
متن کاملKilling of Chlorine-resistant Bacteria by Chlorine-bromine Solutions.
The disinfective power of chlorine, bromine, and mixtures of chlorine and bromine at different ratios was compared. The influence of pH was also studied. The experiments were carried out in "purified" water and in natural waters of swimming pools, river, and sea. In the presence of high amounts of nitrogenous growth-promoting material (at neutral pH), bromine was more effective than chlorine; i...
متن کاملInhalation of chlorine gas.
The clinical features of acute chlorine gas inhalation, and its management are reviewed. Current medical views on the chronic effects of an acute overwhelming exposure on lung function (reactive airways dysfunction syndrome), and the more controversial field of lung disease secondary to repeated inhalations of lower concentrations of chlorine gas are discussed.
متن کاملChlorine in water disinfection
Disinfection of drinking-water is one of the main achievements of our time in the protection of public health. The use of chlorine for the destruction of microbiological pathogens is essential to protect the public from outbreaks of waterborne disease. Chlorine, as well as other disinfectants, produces a variety of chemical by-products. The risk from the presence of microbial pathogens in drink...
متن کاملGeneration of Nitrogen-Chlorine
Human phagocytes can be triggered to generate large quantities of long-lived nitrogen-chlorine derivatives. This class of oxidants can be detected as early as 5 min after the addition of phorbol myristate acetate or opsonized zymosan particles. Unlike all other oxygen metabolites known to be generated by phagocytes, the nitrogen-chlorine compounds can be readily detected in cell supernatants 90...
